Members of the Gowanus Landmarking Coalition, PortSide New York, and community members in Red Hook and Gowanus will hold a press conference on Wednesday, March 13, 2019, opposing demolition of the historic S.W. Bowne Grain Storehouse along the Gowanus Canal, which dates to 1886.

It’s been 75-years since the skies were filled with C-47s on their way to France to begin the D-Day invasion. On Saturday, May 18, 2019, the day before they begin their journey to Europe, Brooklynites will have the opportunity to see the entire D-Day Squadron (conditions permitting) fly in formation from Oxford, CT, up the Hudson River in New York, over Manhattan Island, and around the Statue of Liberty.

The first ski World Cup race held in the United States was at Waterville Valley in 1969, with four of the six podium positions taken by American women in slalom and GS. That history is what brings the US Nationals back to the East Coast and Waterville Valley for this season and 2021.
