A new era has come to Gowanus.

After a decade in the making, Whole Foods Market celebrated the grand opening of its much-anticipated and first Brooklyn, New York, store on Tuesday, December 17th, 2013.

Lakeside, the largest and most ambitious project in Prospect Park  since the Park’s completion, will open this month, December 2013.  The $74 million restoration and redesign features a public skating  facility with amenities including a café.
