On Thursday, November 16, Congresswoman Nydia Velázquez keynoted a town hall meeting on the state of the Gowanus Canal Superfund clean-up. A crowd of over 200 packed the Wyckoff Gardens Community Center for this classic civic exercise: a chance for citizens to interact directly with elected and appointed government representatives.
The Powerhouse Workshop will be a contemporary industrial fabrication center established to serve the working needs of artists in the former Brooklyn Rapid Transit Power Station on the Gowanus Canal. Site prep is underway.

The large crane pulled into the Fourt Street Basin of the Gowanus Canal in late Otober 2017 and is a part of the Dredging and Capping Pilot Study to rebuild the bulkheads along the canal with metal prior to the dredging of the canal.
